Practical information

The venue for the York 2016 conference will be the Humanities Research Centre, on the campus of the University of York.

The conference will start with lunch on Monday 12th December and finish by 6pm on Wednesday 14th December. A provisional programme will be made available by the end of October 2016. There will be an evening reception on the Monday evening and a conference dinner on the Tuesday evening.

Registration fees are £150 (£75 for students) including a cold buffet lunch each day, the Monday evening reception and hot drinks during all breaks. The optional conference dinner can be booked at the same time, for an additional £20 (or £25 including wine).

We are happy to announce that we have secured some sponsorship from the LAGB which allows us to offer a small number of student bursaries (in the form of a further reduction in the registration fee). We have written to all accepted authors with information about eligibility for bursaries and how to apply.

You will need to book your own accommodation in York during the conference. We have provided some information about accommodation options on our accommodation page.

Travel from York city centre to campus: The campus is 2 miles south-west of York city centre, so it is a pleasant 30-40 minute walk, or, alternatively, there are buses every 15 minutes from York to campus and back during the conference period. You can see bus route maps to and from the university here: . The conference venue is the Berrick Saul Building on Campus West and so the best bus to catch is the #66. The bus timetable for the #66 bus can be downloaded here.
